Its only but one of the many personal accounts he has used to collect money on behalf of the community in the past. Voices from the PG’s circle have defended this, especially the donations for the ongoing bridge.

According to them, the fund for Amagu-Ani bridge is a freewill donation and so constitutes no abuse should it be mismanaged.

But lawyers views vary sharply. Barr A.A Enenche, a constitutional lawyer based in Awka said the donations belong to Amagu community.

“The fact that your PG is asking for those donations by virtue of his office, the contributions belong to Amagu autonomous community and should be directed to public treasury” Enenche told InfoWars.

Udengene was arrested earlier last week by men of the FCID Enugu Annex, but was later released on bail. He’s being accused of document forgery and perjury, and the forces behind his arrest are hellbent in dragging the matter to Federal High Court. Comr Udengene is the first Amagu President General to have been arrested while serving. If, eventually, he is tried and jailed, he would also have the privilege of becoming the first PG to be be convicted.
