“Most of them are mad,” Seriake Dickson, tackles Peter Obi’s supporters

Those supporting Mr Peter Obi are making it very difficult for him to really hold a good outing and win, said Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The former Anambra State governor is the presidential flag-bearer of NDC for 2027 elections. His many supporters, notorious for dominating social media spaces, have been attacking Dickson and the entire NDC leadership for sometimes now. They believe that Obi is a great asset and that he is doing NDC a favour.
Reacting, Dickson pushed back on the narrative and gave corrections on Arise TV programme yesterday. According to the former governor of Bayelsa, Peter Obi is not doing his party a favour. Instead, reversed is the case – Obi is benefiting from NDC, an already established platform he contributed nothing in building.
“Don’t make it look like anyone is doing NDC a favour. No one is. Rather, the NDC and I and my colleagues are doing people a favour by granting our platform,” Dickson said.
He expressed shock that Obi’s supporters are attacking the vehicle carrying their preferred candidate. Dickson also clarified that it was based on genuine calculation that made NDC adopt Peter Obi as the party’s sole presidential candidate.
“Nobody paid shishi. So, if a presidential candidate didn’t pay shishi to be made the sole presidential candidate and sole vice-presidential candidate, that same party cannot be the one saying that small people are underprivileged,” Seriake Dickson continued.
Many have described Peter Obi as a fairweather politician who lacks patience and who has zero ability to organise or build a platform of his own.
From his emergence as Anambra State governor to his joint PDP ticket with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2019, Obi has been changing political parties like panties. First, he dumped APGA for PDP; he dumbed PDP, then LP and ADC.
