Verifiable pieces of evidence point that there is no Nigerian president who was more committed to supporting farmers than President Bola Tinubu, says Hon Kenneth Eze.
In a statement published in his group’s portal this morning, the president of Enugu State Young Farmers Association (ENSYFA) thanked profusely Tinubu for his agricultural interventions since 2023, especially the ongoing FISP fertiliser distribution in the state.
“All of us at ENSYFA are glad to have the current leadership of Enugu State AFAN without which the ongoing FISP fertiliser distribution would probably be like the ‘business as usual’. We thank Chief Nnambueze, the current president; Comr Eze Romanus, the immediate past president; Comr L.T. Orekeyi, the secretary and, of course the rest of the heroes and heroines of the apex farmers’ association.
“Also, in a very special note we appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu without whom the incentives wouldn’t have be possible”, the ENSYFA president wrote.
Recall that, weeks ago, Federal Government, through the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) rolled out the most extensive farm input intervention in the nation’s history, codenamed the Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Programme (FISP). A total of 515,720 bags of urea and NPK fertiliser were distributed across 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), targeting 128,930 smallholder farmers.
Commending the Tinubu’s bold initiative, the ENSYFA figurehead, who himself a die-hard APC member from Udi, reiterated his group’s undivided loyalty to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“We belong to a Renewed Hope full-time. Ours are real farmers, numbering several thousands scattered across the 17 local government areas in Enugu state,” Eze said, added that ENSYFA is prepared to give its bloc votes to the president in 2027.
InfoWars reported that Enugu State AFAN temporary suspended the distribution of the fertiliser following disturbing development where hoodlums allegedly planned to stage unrest at the distribution center last week. In his address, ENSYFA president also appealed to critical stakeholders in the state to do what is necessary to lift the suspension as soon as possible for most of his members, who registered in AFAN’s database, haven’t collected their fertiliser.
“We’re appealing to Enugu State AFAN and, of course, all the critical stakeholders to please lift the suspension so our members could collect their own fertiliser. Time for applying fertiliser on rice is passing, and our people are deeply concerned over the growing uncertainty,” Hon Eze added.
With over 31,000 registered members, ENSYFA is one of the largest farmers association in Enugu state, most of its members drawn among agrarian, rural dwellers across the state.
