REFMEDIAGIST, a fake blog, pitches Awgu Chairman against his kinsmen

While, obviously, attempting to defend, a fake online news outlet REFMEDIAGIST has defamed the chairman of Awgu local government area.

In a publication made yesterday, it was responding to the InfoWars’ viral news report about the resolve of the good people of Awgu to fight for Senate in 2027. Not only did InfoWars report factual and very positive news, it got those facts from Awgu public WhatsApp platforms and confirmed it from reliable sources.

Awgu people’s agitation for equity and fairness is justified. The most populous local government area in Enugu West constituency, the council area is grossly cheated out of political equations – always. Its four sisters council areas have sat in the Senate at different times. Also, there has never been any former governor or governor or minister of Awgu extraction.

“The Executive Chairman of Awgu local government area, Hon Uchenna Okolo has formally distanced from a controversial political publication currently in circulation”.

The editor or, maybe Okolo’s media handlers, doesn’t know they actually pitched the chairman against his constituents.

For one thing, InfoWars‘ publication never mention the chairman’s name in the trending article. Failing to understand how media works, the handlers fell for the bait of using their boss’s photo. A Local Government chairman is the leader and ultimate face of his council. And as a public figure he doesn’t have control of how his photos or name are used in the public so long uses are not for malicious intents.

“Now, we know that our chairman is not with his people. He is satisfied already – whether Awgu prospers or fails isn’t his concern,” Remigius Nwankwo from Mgbidi said in a phone chat.

If handled poorly, Refmediagist’s tasteless post is capable destroying Hon Uchenna Okolo’s political future.

InfoWars has reached the chairman’s office for comment.

InfoWars, a newborn in the blogosphere, is growing at approximately 147% a month since January, according to several rating tools.

As 2027 general elections draw nearer, Awgu is worried. They’re at the same time preparing to snatch the senatorial seat of Enugu West constituency from Senator Osita Ngwu and make the Chief Whip sit elsewhere.

In a statement it released this morning, Awgu People Liberation Movement, listed reasons why it’s their “turn” to send a man to the Red Chamber.

According to the group, Awgu has been sidelined for so long.

“In Enugu West, every local government with exception of Awgu has occupied the Senate at different times. Udi Local Government, in particular has produced governors, a deputy governor, multiple ministers, ambassadors,” the statement said in part, added that Awgu never produced a governor, deputy governor or minister despite being the most populous council in the zone.

Presently, the senator of Enugu West, Governor Peter Mbah’s Chief of Staff, and Speaker House of Assembly are all from Udi. To the people of Awgu there has been a sustained marginalisation, and they’re ready to clash mostly with Udi in the coming polls. In life everything is possible yet it’s very unclear how Awgu can wrest control from the ultimate god of ancient Agbaja clan. Udi has proven to be the questioned gladiator of Enugu West politics. They simply get what they want – always!

But Awgu is also a titan, capable of mounting opposition of any scale if it chooses and unites. Able men such as Emperor Baywood Ibe, Hon Uche Anioke, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, Dr Ben Chukwu, Dr SKC Ogbonnia, Dr Uche Akpom, Dr Martin Chukwuike are from there.

Others like Dr Godwin Udibe, Chief Ben Eche, Hon Ginika Tor, Hon Humphrey Onyima can also win the Senate.

Awgu is being promised the slot of a governor in 2031, but the people said they can’t wait for a future that may never come. According to the group, Awgu must go to Senate in 2027, and any of their brothers found “sabotaging” this cause “will have himself or herself to blame”, the group threatened.

It’s not clear who is championing the group. And the calibre of people who share these sentiments have not been determined as at the time of making this report.

The matter, which started in early 2025, has been kept within the community as the President General has been threatening to “crush” anyone who brings “Amagu secrets before public”. InfoWars reported that Udengene has been using might to suppress the voices of his people.

But the natives, now emboldened as a result of InfoWars factual and fearless reports, are out to tear their PG to shreds, said a native who prefers anonymity.

According to the source, Udengene cheated a certain man and bought his land at a price that is four times cheaper than the real value. He proceeded, using his power as the President General, to forcibly remove those who are already on the land on lease.

One of occupants resisted, asking that the lease she had paid be returned before she could pack out. The PG forced her out, destroying the woman’s wares and structures. Then her people, an influential family in the community, replied the executive recklessness with the law, and dragged Udengene straight to the court.

So far the man who sold his land cheap is backing off. His kinsmen had investigated the sell and concluded that Udengene exploited their illiterate brother in a deal that has since been confirmed to be shady and a scam. None of his kinsmen have to refused to sign as it’s traditionally required, a situation which has left both Udengene and the man stranded.

Comr Christian Onyeabor (a.k.a Udengene) has come under fire since last week as voices against his administration get louder.

InfoWars has reported few of the many tales of the PG’s blind leadership, and of his increasing attempts to silence dissents.

He has promised to “crush” his critics. And he is making good those threats, burning down a fellow native’s building as a way to show he is tough. Other people were beaten at his order, while eleven Amagu youths he has put to flight as of the time of making this report. These men are reportedly marked for “capital punishments” even though the government fail to specify their crimes.

But Udengene is not acting alone. He has the backing of few wealthy natives in the community who are hiding under his mantle to humiliate their own personal enemies.

How long this will continue is unclear at the moment. The random assaults on his own subjects have put the community in disarray, but the people are, however, firm in the call for a responsible government.
