Enugu APC Youths leader makes his first public outings

The youths leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Enugu State tested his public acceptance in his first public outing.

Weeks ago, the State Working Committee of the party has announced Mr Basil Ojengwa the youths leader. A bright and ebullient youth himself, Ojengwa is a stark opposite of his immediate predecessor, late Hon Bennett Ajah.

His outting today wasn’t particularly political. He went on a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Francis Ogbonnaya Chukwu, former APC chieftain.

But there was something notable in it. Mass of enthusiastic supporters, falling over Ojengwa, with ogene songs adding to the vibes from the background.

The youths must have seen Ojengwa for what he is: a true rising stars and an unarguable force in the coming elections in Enugu State. They presented him with a black suit, a gesture which still baffles the public.

In his address, Mr Ojengwa told the crowd their interests would be protected, and emphasized that Governor Peter Mbah merited reelection in 2027.

Aninri was, or still, is a stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party. Governor Mbah may have renamed the structures to APC, but whether or not the people would embrace the “new” party is already tested.

During the party’s e-membership registration exercise months ago, Aninri openly scorned APC. The big efforts to recruit voters abysmally failed as even the agents themselves went out their ways to sabotage the exercise.

Despite PDP’s decades of stay in Aninri, it relied on rigging for all of its victories. Unless APC is capable of magic, it can’t win a polling unit in the 2027 elections in Aninri – if things continue the way it is. In coming days, how Mr Ojengwa handles the deep-rooted gaps between the people and party politics would nurse some hope or further set the course in the trajectory of alienation.

Prince Nwanjoku votes at APC National Congress

Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku voted at the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Okpara Square.

Nwanjoku, the chairman of Aninri local government area, by default, falls in as a delegate. There were 8,000 delegates and 31 governors who voted in the convention.

Professor Nentawe Yilwatda and Ajibola Basiru have been returned as national chairman and national secretary. And Enugu-born lawyer Dr Ben Nwoye emerged Deputy National Chairman (South).

“It’s a lie from pit of hell,” again, Nwanjoku knocks Udengene

As his kinsmen fight to choke living breaths out of him, Comr Udengene has continued bragging and lying.

Recall he came to power on the deception that he is heavily connected in politics – from Abuja through states.

“I served former Sen Ike Ekweremadu. I understand Abuja very well, and I know all the men that matters there. These power brokers also know me; they respect me a lot. I’m the man who singlehandedly delivered Sen Osita Ngwu and made him senator”, he had told our people.

The Amagu stakeholders, most of whom rich but very illiterate, took Udengene by his words and he was made PG unopposed.

Today, it’s glaring he couldn’t deliver on his key campaign promises, those issues which enticed or still entice the people. The demolished Orie Oduma market is one of them.

To cover for his lapses and still maintain that his list of contacts is long, the PG has often relied on pushing negative narratives against Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku within Amagu community.

In early 2025, he lied that Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku was pushing to take over Orie market for personal use. The campaign was so effective that the chairman’s name nearly looked like a rag inside the community. Then Nwanjoku reacted but was calmed down by well-meaning Amagu friends who warned their selfish, loudmouth PG.

“Ever since Mayor (Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku) offered him appointment post do you see Udengene talking trash again? That’s the type of a man he is. Selfish man!” Mbah C.J from Nenwe told InfoWars.

After women from the community rejected his attempt to protest against Nwanjoku-led administration last month, and after InfoWars leaked it, Udengene has gone out of his way to practically sing praises of the chairman on social in obvious ploy to mend fences. Presently, he’s selling another lie that Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku is hellbent on taking the demolished land by force.

In a phone chat with the chairman’s Chief of Protocol, Hon Nnaemeka Onu, the truth denied that.

“There is nothing of such, please. He (Prince Nwanjoku) is trying to mediate peace amongst these two great communities”, Hon Onu said.

Amagu Concerned Indigenes, a rising pressure group, alongside InfoWars, has embarked on all-out war to unmasked Comr Udengene and to stripe him of his only arsenal which is darkness. But he and his ‘fallen angels’ have been really brutal in fighting back.

With all the supposed secrets leaked to the world, with the police investigating him, and with petitions for his suspension flying to the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, the PG is losing ground. Last week he fainted, an ordeal a doctor attributed to a killing ailment, low blood pressure.

He’ll certainly give in finally as natives of Amagu community set for mass return for their Annual General Meeting (AGM), a platform they hope to seize and roast the “public enemy” alive.

He has lost everything, every claim to power and respect. The so-called kingmakers in Amagu, who had supported him, are on the run as police’s invitations widen to more people.

However, there’s one thing Udengene may not lose so quickly: his penchant for lies.

“You’re in a mess,” APC stalwart tells Udengene as efforts to unseat him thicken

As all political parties draw their strategies, and schedule for primary elections, interested aspirants work hard to create bridges of support and alliances.

But for Mr Christian Onyeabor, the President General of Amagu autonomous community, who is aspiring to represent Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River federal constituency in 2027 elections, a different reality exists. Yesterday, men of Force Criminal Investigative Department, Enugu Annex, arrested him on the allegation of document forgery. He has since secured his bail, but is now under investigation.

InfoWars has provided sufficient evidence that Udengene has forged the Constitution of Amagu Town Union and sworn an affidavit with it at the Enugu State High Court.

On its part, an indigenous pressure group, Amagu Concerned Indigenous, is clearly proving it could be lethal. Its members are behind Udengene’s arrest. They’re both proudly and openly saying so, having gone as far as getting approval of the arrest directly from the Inspector General of Police’s office in Abuja.

The forged document has implicated nine other well-meaning community natives, including the sitting traditional ruler, HRH Igwe D.O Ohabuikem. The police mandated the PG to bring all the nine on Monday for their statements.

Now standing face-to-face with the laws and risking stringent Penal Code penalties, Igwe and some others are at the verge of denying Udengene.

In a video that is now going viral, Igwe Ohabuikem says he didn’t “know of any other Constitution” aside the real one. Its not clear the date the video was made.

Reps 2027: The long way to victory

For Udengene to realise his Abuja dream, there are seemingly immovable odds to beat.

Hon. Anyayo Onwuegbu, the current occupant of the constituency’s seat has since signalled interest to seek reelection in 2027. He was declared to have lost to Labour Party’s Hon Chijioke Okereke in 2023. Onwuegbu simply went to court and returned with the mandate. He’s an able man aside being extremely rich and heavily connected.

Udengene lacks everything it takes to match this man. Besides, at home – that’s within Aninri political spaces – stiff competition awaits to destroy the weak as several people of unusual pedigrees seek the same seat at the same time.

But the biggest blockade would come from Mr Christian Onyeabor’s sordid past. Opposition researchers have been looking for dirts in his days as a student leader in and in the days he piloted the so-called Aninri Grassroots Mobilizers.

And indeed, the findings so far would make some interesting reading. The tendency for sexual escapades is characteristic, just as his penchant for greed and abuse of power.

The FCID arrest is the latest odd as pressure continue to rise in a bid to force the PG to show some sense of decorum.

Seventy-nine different petitioners have reached the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs in Enugu, all calling for Udengene’s immediate suspension as the PG. More people, now emboldened by InfoWars successful assaults on the anti-people administration, would be rushing to the Ministry in coming days.

This is happening at the backdrop of mockery in Aninri political circles where Udengene is notorious for boasting of his acumen and power to control.

“I’ve talked with him [Udengene] and I said to him ‘you’re in a mess’. You’re allowing your people to prove you can’t control a place as little as Amagu village'”, APC stakeholder from Aninri spoke with InfoWars.

As the community’s Annual General Meeting begins on April 8, more interesting dramas are certainly coming. Major Amagu stakeholders are already on their knees. They would be leading Udengene to beg members of the pressure group tomorrow.

But a source privy to the situation told InfoWars the rising group would set the bar even higher in a negotiation that is certain to end in impasse.
