Nwanjoku takes APC message to Udi as CoS flags off e-registration

Enugu State, like all its four sister states in the southeast, hates the “new” All Progressives Congress (APC). But one thing is sure: the party is gradually winning hearts in the face of relentless grassroots campaigns.

Earlier today, Governor Peter Mbah’s Chief of Staff, Barr. Victor Udeh, flagged off APC e-registration in a heavy ceremony that attracted massive crowd as well as bigwigs across the state.

Aninri’s Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku was present in solidarity that marks rare ingenuity and tradition of any ruling party in Enugu.

Also present was former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Speaker of the state Assembly Chief Uche Ugwu, APC youths leader Peter Chime, as well as other high profile personalities.

Governor Mbah has ordered a mass membership e-registration across the 17 council areas last week. Although the exercise faced low reception initially, voters are beginning to embrace the once-hated APC gradually, as verified sources from database show.

Unlike its Anambra neighbour, Enugu is not good in playing opposition. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had ruled unchallenged for nearly 30 years before it was replaced with APC last year. While the “new” party work tirelessly ahead of 2027 victories, opposition parties are still enjoying their deep slumber.

Senator Osita Ngwu gives surveillance cameras to constituents

Senator Osita Ngwu gives surveillance solar cameras to the people of Eke, a small community in Enugu West constituency.

Speaking at the mini ceremony Ngwu, who was represented by his aide Emeka Aneke, said the cameras “were his way of ensuring that every part of his constituency is empowered with enough security materials,” according to a circular from his media office.

The Eke Progressive Forum, a special interest group, received the items on behalf of the people and its leaders “assured [the senator] of their total support… at all times,” the circular continued.

Constituents lead fight against Reps member Anayo Onwuegbu over “Utara” machine empowerment

Senator Osita Ngwu was the only senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who survived Labour Party’s deadly incursions in the 2023 elections. The electoral machines were hijacked and the election grossly rigged in his favour.

He, alongside major Political bigwigs in Enugu State defected to APC, abandoning PDP to perish.

Ngwu has not publicly declared his bid for reelection but he is “ready for more terms,” an insider source told InfoWars. His predecessor former Senator Ike Ekweremadu sat on the seat for 20 years.

Revisited: Ekoro Health Center and saga of Hyginus Okorie of Okpanku Aninri

Earlier July in 2022, a very disturbing news of gross misappropriation going on in Aninri healthcare system emerged. Particularly, the case in Ekoro Health Center in Okpanku was the worst.

After media investigation exposed the architect of the decay, one Mr Hyginus Okorie, Bennett Ajah’s administration swung to action.

More facts came to light. For years, Mr Okorie had stolen the supplies of drugs and medical equipments meant for the health facility, according to reports from the chairman’s office. He stole one big generator the government supplied, and another that the good people of Okpanku donated. A big GP tank, meant for the center, was found under his care. Then, approximately ₦13 million naira, fund the state government sent regularly for maintenance of the hospital, was squandered and there was no trace of expenses records.

Why APC e-membership registration is “failing” in Aninri

At first, Bennett Ajah took the matter seriously but was stopped by the defacto chairman, Gabriel Ukpabi, his Secretary to the Local Government, according to sources familiar with the development.

It’s true that officials from the Local Government Service Commission came down to Aninri to see for themselves. And that was all: they saw for themselves. But nothing happened.

Why does Hyginus Okorie’ saga floated today?

“What the chairman [Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku] should do is check various persons he entrusted with various duties in the council for accountability,” Benson Nnaji, a PhD student of political science at Enugu State University of Science and Technology said.

“Chairman cannot do everything, that’s why he has assistants in vital areas. But the chairman is to blame if anything goes wrong. Nobody knows about the assistant, and that’s why he has to make each appointee do his or her work very well,” Nnaji concluded.

There is only but a minor change in Aninri healthcare system today. And those, like Hyginus Okorie, who actively wrecked the system, are still walking freely among his Okpanku brothers whom his actions brought immeasurable shame, pain and so many unwarranted deaths.

Like before, most of the health workers still live and do businesses in Enugu city; they are paying some quack nurses to “sign for me”; they don’t go to work. While the poor, sick rural dwellers suffer and die of preventable diseases, the health workers receive their full “ransoms” for the losses in the name of regular salaries.

Yet, there is a supervisor for health in the council today.

The shame and achievements of Aninri Legislative Chamber in 15 months

Last year, when member of Aninri Legislative Chamber unanimously impeached it’s leader Philip Igwe the people were genuinely thrilled.

For a man who stayed the whole time in the council’s darkest days – Bennett Ajah’s tenure – and who actively supported the “Babylonian King”, Hon. Igwe fitted into a good image of a dirty villain in the eyes of the public.

His removal was, in fact, due and was hailed as a fresh start of legislative vibrancy. People also like Igwe’s replacement, Hon. Ajah, the councillor representing Okpanku ward.

However, more than a year after the “fresh start” under Ajah the chamber is yet to start. According to impeccable sources, there are only four bills which have been introduced in Aninri Legislative House since October 2024. Ajah himself introduced three of those bills, and the councillor of Oduma ward 3 introduced one. Shockingly, all these bills are still at their introductory stages, and the Enugu State agencies responsible for land use are kicking to kill one the bills for “lacking in importance”.

Taken literally, Aninri lawmakers have not made even one law since 2024.

“Do you blame them? Most is them were handpicked for reasons apart from merit,” James Ajah, a trader who have resided at Ndeabor for more than 25 years told InfoWarsHQ.

At the time when Governor Peter Mbah is in need to plant ‘new’ All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu, those who should inherently be his foot soldiers are now proven to be grossly incapable. As at today, it were merely 3,402 people who agreed to registered as APC members in Aninri – in a zone that boasts of approximately 20,000 voters.

“Our people are no longer fools. We’ve been fooled many times. They shared rice, fertiliser and give money to their families and to their friends. But nothing for us. Why should we follow them? Are these people leaders?” Chidi Nwanyanwu from Mmafu village in Oduma said.

There has never been any real political contest in Aninri since 1999. Thinking that they own the council, the privileged few had sat at the common resources, enriching their pockets while all the while trampling on the silent majority.

Also, since 1999, all the councillors – most of whom pure idiots and illiterates – are handpicked simply to fill slots. What else, if not confusion and incompetence, would keep a whole 10 lawmakers from making a single law in nearly two years?
