Enugu ADC under attack as APC moves to infiltrate it

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to be fidgeting in Enugu State. For a party that is deeply hated in the Southeast – and for a reason – APC has reasons to be really scared ahead of the 2027 polls.

Before Governor Peter Mbah handed over to APC the Peoples Democratic Party’s structures last year, Enugu has maintained a one-party status since 1999. The grand strategy had been to infiltrate the opposition, buying out major stakeholders and eliminating the obstinate ones.

So Enugu PDP had mastered and thrived on rigging. But in the 2023 general elections, which proved nationwide that power belongs to the people, Enugu was hit the hardest. The myth of PDP impregnable strongholds was shattered, and voters’ resolve prevailed against the elitists’ gang-up. Even Peter Mbah clearly lost.

Another, perhaps bigger, challenges are laid before the governor as 2023 elections draw closer. He is in the worst party, and he is generally perceived as sitting on stolen mandate. He’ll be seeking reelection against the backdrop of growing public resentment as his policies continue to make more voters poorer.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has replaced the 2023 Labour Party. Peter Obi’s presence in it has raised hope in Enugu, and the sturdy prospects are driving Peter Mbah mad.

Enugu State chapter of ADC announced an attempt to hijack it’s leadership. In a statement, yesterday, the party’s State chairperson Comr Stella Chukwuma said a certain person is soliciting for fund from the general public using ADC.

The party didn’t only distance itself from the fraudulent. It also exposed the person behind it: Account Name: John Okechukwu Nwokabia, Bank: Zenith Bank, Account Number – 1005664255.

The obvious motive was to insult the party leadership’s integrity while also planting early divisions more than a year before the contests.

ADC is steadily capturing more grounds in the state as APC expectedly stalls. Despite the raving publicity and outreaches the APC e-registration of membership has remained a sound failure particularly Awgu, Ezeagu, Udenu and about 9 more council areas across Enugu.

Ganduje on his way to Kano to witness Gov. Ganduje’s official defection to APC

The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is on his way to Kano State to witness formal defection of Governor Abba Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress.

He returned from London this morning where he attended the graduation ceremony of his daughter Fatima at King’s College London.

Ganduje is expected to engage fully in the ceremony as well as other political engagements including the ongoing electronic registration. During his term as APC national chairman, he initiated e-registration of members.

Mass defection to APC is currently shaking Kano as the once almighty New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) is on the verge to irredeemable collapse against the weight of fresh political realignment.

Sen Kelvin Chukwu revalidates APC membership, laid rumour to rest

Senator Kelvin Chukwu has revalidated his All Progressives Congress (APC) membership, finally laying to rest the rumour that he has not defected to the ruling party.

Addressing the press shortly after he registered at Amuri, Chukwu said he had no regret dumbing Labour Party for APC. He is very pleased with president Ahmed Bola Tinubu he loves Governor Peter Mbah, the senator said to the cameras.

Before 22 February 2023, Kelvin Chukwu was nobody in Enugu State politics. On that date his brother Oyibo Chukwu, LP senatorial candidate was gruesomely murdered in one of the dirtiest political assassinations in history. Gunmen attacked him along Amechi road. When they couldn’t get on his bulletproof car, the assailants burnt him alive, while inside the car.

The event turned a lot around. Federal Government ordered that the election scheduled for February 25 be postponed. LP compensated Chukwu’s family by replacing Oyibo with Kelvin. Out of pity, the people voted Kelvin to Senate in the largest election turnout that drove his PDP rival Chimaroke Nnamani mad.

So Kelvin ran on a ticket that was squarely against President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah.

No one ever believed he had truly defected to APC. But his Amuri address has laid cleared the doubts. To his people, the act was nothing but a betrayal.

“I’m disappointed. We’re highly disappointed in him [Sen Kelvin Chukwu],” Uchenna Ogbodo, Amuri native told InfoWarsHQ on a phone chat.
