The kidnappers who snatched Ondo businesswoman Mrs Morenike Falona on Wednesday night have finally called. They’re making a whopping demand of ₦100-million ransom for her release.
Mrs Falona, 35, is a wife of a multi-millionaire motorcycle dealer in Irele. Her abductors stormed her home at Ode-Irele, headquarters of Irele Local Government area of Ondo State and took her away right in front of her family.
For nearly 48 hours the family had remained in the dark as the abductors didn’t communicate them immediately, a source close to the family said. They called around 5.30pm on Thursday to make the demand.
The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abayomi Jimoh, has confirmed the incidence. But the police was not aware of any ongoing negotiations between Falona family and the kidnappers, Jimoh maintained.
According to him, efforts to track the kidnappers and rescue the woman unhurt is under way.
