The presidency has reacted to Peter Obi’s presidential candidate kick off, dismissing it as mere “content creation”. InfoWars reported that the former governor of Anambra has, earlier today, formally flagged off his presidential campaign for 2027 elections.
In his post on X handle, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, accused Obi of failing to clarify his vision for the often touted “New Nigeria” Obi is promising.
“One candidate just did a world content creation press conference with empty rhetorics and unconvincing statements speaking to few recognizable media outlets and many unrecognizable fake news ‘tags on the mics,” Bwala said, added that Obi has nothing to offer Nigerians.
“He missed the opportunity to define his vision and mission; he was sounding like he is INEC setting the rules of engagement,” he added.
Peter Obi who is running under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is generally believed to be one of the contestants to define the 2027 general elections. He did it in 2023, his vibe practically swept many unknown individuals to overnight political successes across the country although he himself failed to cling the presidential seat he sought.
Would his voice be as loud as it was in 2023? At least he believed he could pull off even a better outing in 2027. In his speech during his flag-off, the former Labour Party presidential candidate said at the bottom of his decision to run was a crucial conviction that he believed that “Nigeria must work” again.
“I consider myself to be among those contesting to address the challenges Nigeria is currently facing. I join this contest with one firm conviction: Nigeria must work”, he said in the live broadcast.
But Bwala is saying that Obi is making a noise as usual, insisting the NDC flag-bearer has nothing to offer Nigerians.
“The truth is you cannot give what you don’t have”, Bwala said.
