It was first rumoured. Now it’s confirmed to be true. Edo State government has banned David Adeleke who is popularly known as Davido from performing in the state.
The banned followed a hot exchange of words between Davido and Governor Monday Okpebholo during the campaigns for the recently concluded Osun State governorship election. Governor Okpebholo, campaigning for the candidate of his party All Progressives Congress had taken a swipe at Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord Party who is Davido’s uncle. Okpebholo mocked Adeleke, saying that his dancing skills made him a less serious governor of Osun state.

That prompted Davido’s reaction, and so set the stage for the ‘war’ that is to follow. Davido shared Okpebholo’s WAEC result on social handle. And you know what? Okpebholo’s result is not worth sharing – his is one of the poorest results there is. So the governor and his aides took offence.
It doesn’t help at all that after Adeleke’s victory at the polls that Davido still refused to apologise to the governor. According to the Afrobeat singer, there is nothing wrong he did.
