Just four days before Galatasaray’s Champions League clash with Sporting CP, Victor Osimhen has raised concerns.
The striker was forced to leave the pitch at 33rd minute into their game against İstanbul Başakşehir. Although he left earlier, he had scored an impressive goal for his team’s 3-2 victory.
He suffered muscular injury and couldn’t continue. Barış Alper Yılmaz replaced him.
Galatasaray has not officially said anything about the severity of the injury. Also, they haven’t given the timeline for his recovery. So it’s still unclear whether the Nigerian international would be available for the European fixture.
Osimhen made impact exactly at 16th minutes when he fired a shot that hit the post and found the net. The VAR confirmed it a goal, giving Galatasaray early 1-0 lead. But a minute later, the striker began to have severe discomfort which already got worse as the match progressed.
On Wednesday, September 9, Galatasaray will meet Sporting CP. And the biggest question surrounding Champions League is would Victory Osimhen be part of that game on four days before the date?
At the moment, no one can answer this especially as his club is yet to release any official statement to that effect.
