Cooking gas price increases again

Price for liquefied petroleum gas, known as cooking gas, has increased once again days after it had surged earlier.
I looked up some places in Enugu here, and checked the price. Last week, cooking gas was sold at ₦1,200/kg. It increased to ₦1,500 over the weekend, and is now being sold at ₦1,700. Some outlets are selling at ₦1,800 per kilogramme.
According to Daily Post report, the price increase reached Abuja – or, perhaps, started there. Cooking gas is the same price – ₦1,800/kg – in the capital city, having added ₦300 since last week.
No one is certain on the cause of the sharp rise in price of one of the most needed household goods. But Eid-ul-Adha celebration in Nigeria is being pointed as a possible factor.
