As windows for campaigns for the Enugu State 2026 council elections set to wind up statewide, enthusiasm is only growing fatter in most Aninri communities.
The mass turnouts at Oduma wards 2 and 3, yesterday, spoke volumes, further confirming InfoWars’ earlier reports that Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku has succeeded in planting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the former strongholds of the dying Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

More than 13,000 natives, including different women groups in their colourful uniforms, and various youths and societies of diverse affiliations, welcomed the chairman as his campaign trails made stops in the council’s largest town.
So many critical stakeholders in the wards, including the Director General of the campaign and former chairman of Aninri, Prince Chidi Ekwe, were present.
Others who graced the events included HRH Igwe Daniel Njoku, chairman of Aninri traditional rulers Council and traditional ruler of Ezinesi autonomous community; Chief Stephen Chukwu Ezeora (a.k.a Okeite), Aba-based billionaire businessman; Mr John Ejike, APC chairman of Oduma ward 2; Mr Sunday Orji, APC chairman of Oduma ward 3; Hon Mrs Promise Aka, the councillor representing the ward; Hon Sunday Olisaemeka, councillor representing Oduma ward 3; Hon James Aja, special assistant to Sen Osita Ngwu on constituency matters; Chief Emmanuel Obasi, special adviser to the chairman on Works; Mr Basil Orji, APC councillorship candidate for Oduma ward 2. Chief Chukwu Simion, Chief Ignatius Onyeabor, Chief Godfrey Kamah and Chief Godwin Anyim, community leaders from Esinesi Oduma.
It was more like a thanksgiving ceremony, not a hunt for votes as heads of various groups, including business leaders took turns to recount Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku’s impacts in the council.
“It’s the first time we’re witnessing a council chairman giving out at least one transformer to each of the 10 wards,” Okeite said, challenging anyone who could dispute that to come out to say so. No one came out; instead, a thunderous applause followed, lasting for minutes.
“It’s good to pay good with good. This man here (Nwanjoku) has done a lot of good things. He is good to us. We owe him. On September 26 we can, and we will pay him back by giving him every single votes in Oduma” the oil mogul told the cheering crowd.
Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku has toured the 10 wards in Aninri, carrying as a testament for APC viability the visible works under his stewardship. He made his entrance in mainstream politics in 2024 in a landslide victory that shocked the elites and the people alike. He is seeking re-election, having been duly elected in the party’s primary election. Some of the councillors working with him would be handing over to new entrants maybe in October.
The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) has fixed September 26 for Local Government chairmanship and councillorship elections.
