Bandits kidnap pastor’s son in Ondo community

Gunmen have invaded Igbosi area of Idogun in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State. They came for a local cleric, Isaac Olaosebikan, but he ran into hiding inside bush, and they carried his son instead.

It is not yet clear if the pastor is a wealthy man but the bandits damaged two residential buildings all in attempt to capture him. Residents who reported to the police said the gunmen invaded the community around 1am and immediately started shooting sporadically.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the incident, said the police have since mount manhunt against the fleeing assailants.

“During the attack, the assailants reportedly forced their way into the residence of Mr Olaosebikan Isaac. In a desperate attempt to save his life, he escaped into the surrounding bush, leaving behind his nine-year-old son, Master Olaosebikan Victor, who was subsequently abducted by the armed men,” the police image maker said.

This is the latest hit in the ugly waves of banditry and kidnapping sweeping across Yoruba land.
