Gov. Mbah Behind Nwanjoku’s presidential recognition – Senior Aide Reveals
The recent national honour bestowed on the Executive Chairman of Aninri Local Government Area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, has continued to generate excitement, with his Senior Aide, Hon. Nick Obinna Ekpete, attributing the recognition to the visionary leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the strong working relationship between the governor and the Aninri council boss.
Speaking on the award, Hon. Ekpete said Prince Nwanjoku’s emergence as one of Nigeria’s 100 Most Outstanding Local Government Chairmen reflects the governor’s commitment to excellence in governance and his support for performing leaders across Enugu State.
Prince Nwanjoku received the prestigious recognition at a ceremony in Abuja, where he was honoured as one of the 100 Notable, Quintessential and Performing Icons among Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria. The award was organized by the Presidency in collaboration with the Nigeria National Merit Award and featured outstanding council chairmen selected from the 774 local government areas across the country.
According to Hon. Ekpete, Governor Mbah’s leadership has inspired a culture of performance, accountability, and results-driven governance, creating an enabling environment for local government chairmen to deliver impactful leadership. He noted that Prince Nwanjoku’s achievements in Aninri are a testament to this productive partnership, adding that the governor’s continued support and confidence have provided the council chairman with the opportunity and freedom to implement people-oriented policies and transformational projects.
He described the national recognition as a credible platform for assessing performance in local government administration, stressing that Prince Nwanjoku’s leadership has become a model worthy of emulation. Ekpete challenged other local government chairmen across the country to study and learn from Nwanjoku’s leadership style, which he said is anchored on vision, accountability, inclusiveness, and sustainable development. He encouraged the Aninri chairman to remain steadfast and continue serving as a national reference point for transformational grassroots leadership.
