Some youths in Ezeagu passed a very serious message to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
It happened that Obodongwu autonomous community in Ezeagu local government area, Enugu State, opened floor for campaigns for Igweship. That was on earlier October.
One of the candidates, while addressing the crowd, reportedly deviated from the topic of tradition and began to talk about re-electing APC administrations. It wasn’t clear whether it was Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Tinubu or any other candidate whom the man was promoting in his speech.
But the mention of the party reportedly angered the listening youths. They rose in unison against the chief, hit him severely with stones, plastic chairs and sachets water.
The intervention of local vigilante groups at the event didn’t help as the mob, refusing to be contained, eventually disrupted the gathering.
InfoWars is yet to independently verify the story and get to know the victim’s name.

While opposition parties celebrate this chaos on social media as a victory for their ideals and as “rejection” of APC, they would be the first to cry foul at the slightest disruptions in their own political gatherings. Political violence is to be condemned no matter where it is coming from.
And it’s now a fact that Mr. Peter Obi’s supporters are online bullies. If they now add physical violence to it, then it remains to be seen the extent their damage could go as dates for 2027 polls draw nearer.
