The people and stakeholders of Abia Ward in Udi Local Government Area have warmly received the campaign team of Hon. Hyginus Agu and Hon. Emmanuel Ezenwamadu, using the occasion to appreciate community interventions and reaffirm their participation in the political process.
The gathering attracted community leaders, party officials, political stakeholders and residents, including Engr. Chris Ene Ogbuagu, SSA to Senator Osita Ngwu; Rt. Hon. Chuka Eneh, former member representing Udi South; Engr. Ugochukwu Eneh, President-General of the community; Mr. Thankagod Onyia; and Anitrico Anayochukwu Nebo, APC Ward Chairman Mr Owoh Eneh and among others.
A major highlight of the meeting was the appreciation expressed by the people of Abia Ward for Hon. Okechukwu Aneke, member representing Udi South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, over his reported scholarship intervention benefiting more than 23 students from Udi South, with beneficiaries from Abia Ward.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Aneke outlined some of the initiatives undertaken during his three years in office and said he remained committed to doing more for his constituents.
The community also commended Hon. Hyginus Agu, Mayor of Udi Local Government Area, for providing tractors to assist in clearing roads in Abia Ward. Residents expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a practical response to some of the road challenges facing the community.
The people particularly thanked the local government administration for the attention given to their roads and appealed for continued support for infrastructure and other community needs.
Also speaking, Hon. Ugo Agballa called on the people to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing his view that Tinubu should receive their support. His remarks formed part of the wider political discussions at the gathering.
Other APC figures present included Hon. Emmanuel Ezenwamadu, Deputy Chairman of Udi LGA; Hon. Bona Madu, APC Chairman, Udi LGA; Hon. Ozo Uche Alor; Hon. Luke Mgboh; and the campaign Director-General, among other party members and supporters.
The stakeholders said the meeting provided an opportunity not only for political mobilisation but also for community members to acknowledge interventions they said had benefited residents.
The event ended with expressions of appreciation from Abia Ward stakeholders and renewed calls for unity, continued community development and active participation in the electoral process.
