Grenada offers visa-free plan to all Nigerians from July

The newfound relationship between Nigeria and Grenada is currently trending. It’s on everyone’s lips right now – across the country.
Grenada’s Honorary Consul in Nigeria, Bidemi Sonoiki, was speaking in Lagos after he returned from his country days ago. According to him, they’ve worked out plans to remove more bottlenecks for mutual cooperation with Nigeria.
By July a Nigerian could travel to Grenada by simply getting his bag, passport and flight ticket. There won’t be any more hurdles or the usual delays that come with getting visas, Sonoiki said.
Since establishing Grenada’s honorary consulate in Lagos in 2022 relationship between the two countries has climbed speedily on a positive note. So far, Nigeria-Grenada Chamber of Commerce has been established to deepen cooperation in trade and investment.
“We want Nigerian investors to see Grenada not simply as a Caribbean destination, but as a strategic business platform,” Sonoiki added.
As more Nigerians face harsher economic hardships daily, there is no doubt that those who would embrace this opportunity would be much.
Famously known as the “Spice Isle” of the Caribbean, Grenada is an independent country of about 250,000 population.
It’s largely defined as a upper-middle-income, not a poor country. The standard of living and GDP per capita are high, and are far better than what is obtainable in Nigeria and in most other countries.
But Grenada faces a significant wealth inequality. Roughly one-third of its population are living well below poverty line.
