Chairman of Aninri local government area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, has cast his vote at his polling unit at Obuagu village square in Ohofia Oduma. He arrived exactly at 9:07AM alongside his wife Mrs Dorathy Nwanjoku.
Speaking with the newsmen shortly after casting their votes, Prince Nwanjoku said he was encouraged at the turnout of voters in his area.
“We’re satisfied with the election; the election is free, fair and credible,” the chairman said, added that “the turnout is impressive. I learnt that people have been coming quite earlier enough, waiting for the materials to arrive. And now the materials have arrived and voting has commenced. With what I’m seeing, I don’t think we’re going to spend much time to conclude the exercise, so I’m happy.”
In 2024, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku pulled the biggest surprise in Aninri political history since the election of former council chairman Prince Tony Nwonye 28 years ago. He had bypassed the fighting factions, harnessed the legacies of his late father to secure a place in the governor’s heart, and won the most coveted chairmanship ticket to the awe of many.
Now, with his own many legacies to speak for him as he seek to sit at Ndeaboh a second time, he shared his optimism with InfoWars that APC is winning at the end of the day.

If he makes that happen, again he would be taking after Prince Nwonye, the only man to have ruled the council through sheer personal power and under a political party other the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
