- More updates on Enugu SME Centre
Through its SME Equipment Grant Programme, the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency is supporting King Black, an Enugu-based enterprise specialising in footwear and leather products, with productive equipment to increase capacity, improve product quality and access wider markets.
This intervention reflects the commitment of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, to building a private-sector-led economy where MSMEs can scale, create jobs and contribute meaningfully to the administration’s vision of growing Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion and achieving a zero-percent poverty headcount index.
In the coming weeks, the agency intended to take another significant step by commencing the establishment of a world-class Shoe and Leather Products Cluster in Owo, Nkanu East, equipped with modern machinery and shared production infrastructure to support artisans, strengthen local manufacturing and position Enugu as a competitive hub for footwear and leather production.
