All his friends and foes know him for one thing and they agreed on one thing about him; IDE is a “Game Changer” anywhere he finds himself.
Twenty-four (24) hours is what IDE needs in any office he takes over, for everyone to notice and feel a manifest change, a change that announces that a “sheriff is in town”, a change that announces that a new “Oga-at-the-top” has come to change things for better.
IDE’s achievements in all offices he has occupied speak volumes and describe him clearly as an achiever, a game changer.
From his first public office as Managing Director, MD Enugu State Housing Authority to the Chairmanship of Peoples Democratic Party PDP Enugu State to the Chairman, Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board ENSUBEB and now as the Distinguished Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, he has left his indelible footprints on the sands of time.
Indeed, Gen. IBB had the character of IDE in mind when he declared thus “he’s a man who dominates his environment”. It’s in this marching context that IDE’s achievements dominate and swallow the efforts of all his predecessors and successors in any office, because he would always leave a shoe too big for his successors to wear!
Unarguably, if IDE is to live and reside in the ancient Greek island of Rhodes of 280BC, he would stand there as their giant kolosus the origin of the modern version of Colossus.
Let’s come back home. IDE today is the elected Senator for Ndi Igbo Nska. IDE is new and fresh at the Senate Red Chambers of the National Assembly amongst other 108 ranking Senators where Providence has procured him to be, to replace and complete the tenure of late Senator Okey Ezea (bless his golden soul).
IDE is just a few months old on the floor of the Red Chambers and guess what, already he is no longer a ñjuka in Ngugi Wa’ Thiongo’s world but already a Colossus dominating his immediate environment to the astonishment of his Distinguished colleagues and his constients in the six LGAs of Enugu North.
His first set of Appointments is a pointer to the fact that IDE knows his onions. He appointed quintessential men of caliber and great repute who know the terrains, who are grassroots team players, men who have crossed the Proverbial seven rivers and seven wildernesses in electoral experiences, the political Trojan horses in Igbo-Etiti, Uzouwani, Udenu, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South and Nsukka. They are already quivering like our traditional metallic Ooji to deliver him!
IDE is a game changer, IDE is a crowd puller anywhere. And with his forthcoming mega empowerment for his Igbo Nska constituents sometime in December this year, there is no doubt that come January 2027 General Election, Ndi Banyi will troop out in their numbers to tell him “imee – aanyaleke – dejee” with their votes and send him back to the Red Chambers of the Senate to continue his impactful representation. Ditto other APC candidates in Enugu State.
