Governor Peter Mbah’s fresh list of appointees has continued to generate reactions across the circles of the opposition parties in Enugu State.
InfoWars reported that the Lion Building’s decision to announce the appointment was strategic and has put the opposition on notice. When you consider the calibre of people on that list you’d understand the motive. Although Hon Chinedu Okwu of Aninri is not a critic of the government at anytime in the past, host of others had nearly staked everything to made sure the Peter Mbah didn’t become governor in 2023.
There were few single opponents as caustic and as committed to destroying Peter Mbah ahead of 2023 governorship race as Barr Lucky Chukwu. One of his video clips has been trending since yesterday. In the video which serves as a serious rallying point for the opposition in 2023, Barr called Mbah names and prayed that “God forbids” that Mbah should win the polls. Barr Lucky Chukwu was among the new aides, with the portfolio of the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the governor.

Reacting to this development, the 2027 Labour Party candidate for Nsukka/Igboeze South federal constituency, Mr Oscar Ejike Ugwuoke accused Mbah’s administration of “desperate attempt to cover up years of poor governance” as a campaign strategy. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as other pieces of opposition elements are equally whining. But that’s all they can do – talk, and more talks.
