Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo pardons Chidozie Nwangwu, who is popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki.
The controversial native doctor was arrested February 2025 as part of the governor’s crackdown on criminality in the state, the State Government said. Akwa was later sentenced to 11 months imprisonment by High Court sitting in Awka.
The court ordered that Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, upon completion of his terms, would serve as an ambassador for youth reorientation, renounce Oke-ite and related charm practices, and make public statements against such practices.
Soludo announced the pardon earlier today when he visited Correctional Centre in Amawbia
