A young man plotted with two of his friends and robbed his own mother of ₦200,000, and phones and power bank belonging to his siblings.
The incident took place about midnight of September 15, 2026 at Wuro Kuturu, a community in the Jimeta axis of Yola, Adamawa State.
Not knowing that his son was the mastermind of the robbery, the victim had lodged complaints at the police who then tracked the armed robbers and arrested them on Thursday.
The Public Relations Officer of Adamawa State Police Command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident to pressmen yesterday. He identified the suspects as Aminu Adamu, 20; Adamu Mamman, 22; and Nuhu Umar, 22, all of Wuro-Kuturu.
According to Nguroje, the suspects were arrested by operatives attached to Karewa Area Command. Items recovered from them include various suspected hard drugs, scissors, knifes, pliers and larger quantities of Indian hemp.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime,” Nguroje stated, added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has directed that thorough investigation into the matter.
