Former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad is hospitalised a day after his wife died, Reuters reported. His 101.
He was taken to the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night, but the reason for the admission was not yet clear, according to his aide.
Mahathir led Malaysia for more than twenty years at two different time. He has a history of heart problems and has visited hospital often in recent time. In January, he was admitted to the hospital after a fall that fractured his hips.
Mahathir’s wife Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, who was a medical doctor and public health advocate, died two days ago at 100. The couple had been married for 70 years.

According to reports, her death shook the former Prime Minister a lot. A video of the funeral posted in his social media accounts show Mahathir telling the country’s former king he “didn’t expect her to die today”.
