ADC Congress: the moment Sen Gil Nnaji walked out in anger

Former Senator Gil Nnaji staged a walkout in the ADC congress held yesterday.

Sen Nnaji, former Governor Okwesilieze Nwodo, Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa were among the powerful individuals in the faction that installed Professor Austin Akubue as the new Enugu State chairman of the African Democratic Congress.

InfoWars reported that ADC split and held parallel congresses, each electing State Working Committees and claiming victory.

Sen Nnaji was backing Prof Akubue, but not all other individuals whose names make up the executives’ list. New Telegraph reported that when Nnaji saw the list, he walked out in protest.

His group is the offshoot of Obidient Movement, and it is reportedly preparing to mount another serious opposition from state through national in the next year’s elections.

However, that plan might be derailed. Another two factions – one favouring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the other led by the real ADC members – held congresses at different locations in Enugu yesterday.
