Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has continued to push for stability and peace of his people. Earlier today, he acknowledged the match of the youths against terrorism, posting the outings on his official X handle.
“Our young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow,” Mbah declared, added that “they are partners in building the safer Enugu we want today.”
He hailed the rally, which is tagged, “Unite Against Crime and Terrorism”, as “a timely expression of commitment” of the youths to help curb the menace in the society.
“I commend our young people for standing together for peace and against crime and violence. We will continue to support initiatives that gives them purpose and meaningful alternatives,” he concluded.
Governor Mbah is speaking against the backdrop of unrelenting terror attacks and kidnapping in some part of the state which is believed to be carried out by Fulani herders crossing from neighbouring Benue and Kogi states. Although Mbah’s administration has radically reduced the visibility of crime since 2023, lovers of the state have continued to urge the governor to do more particularly in most part of Nsukka zone.
There is no doubt the opposition would want to latch up resentments based on the ugly development in the coming elections. But whether or not they would successfully win the people’s hearts would, of course, depends on the strengths of ruling party in the face of such propaganda.
