WATCH THIS VIDEO – OMEX IN ACTION
In the times of electioneering especially in Nigeria, it’s easy for the voters to be unduly swayed in making the wrong choices due to many factors, one of which is ignorance. A voter needs to be well informed; he must be making up his mind based on facts. But how can he obtain these facts in the face of sophisticated media propaganda, solely build by the contesting candidates for deceit?
But facts are facts; they’re not the same as the shifting nature of ordinary opinions.
To avoid the repeat of our many mistakes in Greater Awgu, it’s only pertinent that the past of them all who are seeking public offices in 2027 be properly and objectively examined – whether or not these candidates like it. It’s our right – not a privilege – to judge everything about everyone whom we would be giving the mandate to determine the course of our lives in very serious means – for a whole four years.
In this piece, we want to look at Hon. Chinedu Onyeagba (Omex Global).
While heralding to the emergence of Omex, Vanguard newspaper reported on February 16, 2022:
“The fact Omex Global has been a creator of private wealth over the years prior to his entry into the peaceful political climate of Oji River in particular and Enugu in general gives the people a great sense of
expectation that his time in office will lead to the creation of jobs and opportunities for the people of Oji Extraction.”
As his administration chairman began, it immediately became obvious that Vanguard’s news wasn’t just a report, but a prophecy.
In July 14, 2022 Hon. Chinedu Onyeagba flagged off the earth work construction of Isikwe Achi Road, a much anticipated project which previous administrations had overlooked due to heavy costs.
Reporting on the event and on the progress of the project, local media recorded that, at first, both the community leaders and the residents didn’t believe it was possible. Isikwe Achi road, starting from Obodo Egbe axis through Isikwe-Mmam bridge, had been a track road leading to the commercial urban of the council. So making it motorable carries a very special meaning.
The traditional ruler and the President General of Isikwe Achi autonomous community, HRH Igwe Dr. C.O Mbaeriachi and Chief Emeke Eze, reportedly said that “Omex has done what no other man has done” for his people, bemoaning their years of pains because of the bad road.
Both the youths and women, enthusiastic over the development, had pledged continued support to “the people’s Mayor”.
An eminent lecturer from School of Nursing Sciences in Oji River who hails from the council, told InfoWars that Omex’s leadership was different not simply because of the volume of work he undertook as the chairman.
“Yes, he (Chinedu Onyeagba) built massive projects during his stay, which is commendable. But it is his choice of those projects which made all the difference. Where others would choose easy work, he chose difficult ones.
“Go and check it; all the things he built were all tailored towards solving one intractable challenge or the other in Oji River. I know of others who would build buildings or cottage hospitals for sheer name of it where what is needed is renovating or equipping existing ones.

“Omex was not like that. He acted like a real man, not like some insecure politician preoccupying his mind with taste of publicity instead of people-oriented results. I’m not a politician, but I like Omex. He is down-to-earth,” the academic said.
As the date for the election comes faster, about ten candidates are on the line for the seat of Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency. For the constituents, who already feel heavily shortchanged and who are very angry according to many surveys, its not just another election.
“It’s going to be Operation Show Your Results”, one constituent funnily wrote on social media.
