Nollywood legend Pete Edochie called President Bola Tinubu his son. Edochie also added that he looked on the current 36 governors in Nigeria as sons.
The veteran actor was speaking in recent interview with TV3. He has acted for so long and has built a name for himself, and that’s precisely why authorities listened when he speaks, Edochie told the anchor. With barley six months to turn 80, he is older than the president and all the governors. That also adds to the reason he is respected as a father figure.
“…So when I talk to them, it is like a father talking to a son,” he stated.
Pete Edochie talked about a particular incident where he used his influence to get financial support for his colleague who was sick.
“I was interviewed in my house in Enugu. During that period, one of my colleagues was ill, so I used that opportunity to call on the government to come to his aid,” he said.
According to him, just a week later he granted that interview, the government sent half a million naira to his ailing colleague.
